Sep 10 to 14, 2018, over 600 attendee from 47 countries all over the world resented at Graphene Week 2018, hold by Graphene Flagship in San Sebastian, Spain. Graphene Flagship is a Future and Emerging Technology Flagship by the European Commission. With a budget of €1 billion, the Graphene Flagship represents a new form of joint, coordinated research on an unprecedented scale, forming Europe's biggest ever research initiative.
The Graphene Flagship is tasked with bringing together academic and industrial researchers to take graphene from the realm of academic laboratories into European society in the space of 10 years, thus generating economic growth, new jobs and new opportunities.
During Graphene Week 2018, 96 oral presentations across 3 parallel sessions offered content on Fundamentals, Applications, and Synthesis and Growth. In addition to this robust program, Graphene Week will host a series of workshops including the Graphene Innovation Forum, Graphene for Human Space Exploration, Women in Graphene and the US-EU International workshop. Over 300 posters will also be presented.
Mr. Lijun YIN, deputy secretary of CGIA standard committee, was also invited to give a speech on Chinese Graphene Industry and Graphene Products Certification. This informative speech covers the domains of Chinese graphene policy, Chinese graphene industry scale and number of enrolled enterprises, numbers on patents and papers, and graphene application on fileds of energy resource, electronics, chemical engineering, thermal management and so on. Mr. Yin talked emphatically about the graphene product certification service conducted by International Graphene Product Certificate Center (IGCC). Nowadays, many so called “graphene products” came out and turned out to have no graphene inside. These kind of “fake graphene product” made the whole industrial circle and common consumers confused. Under this circumstance, a third-party provided, reliable and high-quality graphene certificate should be the best breakthrough, this is the significance of IGCC. The first IGCC graphene product certificate was issued to a Chinese company, Shandong Leadernano Tech. Co., Ltd.
The rapid development of China's graphene industry has attracted the attention of the participants. Mr. Yin and other experts have fully exchanged views on China's graphene industry and product certification. The participating organizations and enterprises are very concerned about China's graphene enterprises and are willing to promote their research results to Chinese market. Some participants will also participate in “GrapChina 2018”, which will be held in Xi'an, China on September 19 to directly communicate with Chinese companies.
